If we knew a meteor was going to hit Earth in 2050, would we try and stop it? By the end of this century, the world’s population will reach 10 billion. Until 25 years ago, it was less than five billion. How have the choices we made affected the environment? How will the sheer force of numbers affect our way of life? In this documentary by director Peter Webber (Girl with a Pearl Earring), the eminent scientist Stephen Emmott (head of the University of Cambridge’s computer science department) gives us an urgent message: the future of humanity is in our hands.
