He began his career as a TV director when he took over the journalism department at Rede Manchete. Among the programs he directed at that broadcaster, a highlight was Documento especial, which won the Troféu Imprensa several times. In 2005, he founded the production company Comunicação Alternativa. His debut feature was O homem pode voar (2005). This was followed by Caro Francis (2009), Alô Alô Terezinha (2009) and Cauby – I Would Try Again (2013).
