The couple Catita and Sister Darlene lives in an
isolated house, amidst an immense sugar cane field. He secretly engages in Maracatu performances,
considered a demonic act and fought against by Pastor Barachinha, leader of the faithful Darlene’s church. In the same field, a pai-de-santo practices a religious ritual along five other men, who become
possessed by spiritual entities and disappear. The city of Nazaré da Mata witnesses these mysterious events.
Born in Pernambuco in 1984, after having started his career in theatre, in 2007, he participated in the Dramatic Construction course at the International School of Cinema and Television (EICTV) in Cuba. He was engaged in the production of award-winning films, such as Aquarius by Kleber Mendonça Filho and Boi Neon by Gabriel Mascaro.
