​This thriller tells the story of Jong-su, a delivery man who is working when he meets Hae-mi, a girl who used to live in his neighborhood and who asks him to take care of her cat while she travels to Africa. When she comes back, Hae-mi introduces Jong-su to an enigmatic young man named Ben, who she met abroad. One fine day, Ben tells Jong-su about his strange hobby. Based on the short story Barn Burning, from the acclaimed Japanese writer Haruki Murakami. Winner of the 2018 Cannes Festival’s Critics’ Prize for best film with a historical record breaking score.​

Lee Chang-dong

​Born in 1954 in South Korea. He started his career in theatre and literature. His directorial debut was in 1997 with Green Fish, awarded at the Rotterdam Festival. It was quickly followed by Peppermint Candy, in 1999, and Oasis, in 2002, which received four awards at the Venice Festival. Secret Sunshine, in 2007, received the award for best actress at Cannes. ​
