Selva, a 13-year-old girl, lives in a Caribbean coastal town. After the sudden disappearance of her only motherly figure, Selva is the only one left to take care of her grandfather, who doesn’t want to live anymore. Between mysterious shadows and wild games, she debates whether helping her grandfather achieve his desire, even though this might mean going through her last moments of childhood alone. Sofía Quirós Ubeda
Sofía was born in 1989 and studied Sound and Image Design at the University of Buenos Aires. Since her first films, she has focused on working with non-actors and actresses. Her short film Selva premiered at La Semaine de la Critique of the Cannes Film Festival 2017 and went to screen in more than 40 cities. In 2019, Land of Ashes, her first feature film also premiered at La Semaine de la Critique of the Cannes Film Festival.
