Jamie is an eccentric young man who travels to Chile with three buddies. After a night of drinking, he invites Crystal Fairy, a total stranger, to travel with them to San Pedro, in the north of the country. The trip has a clear purpose: trying the hallucinogenic liquid of a cactus specific to the region. Crystal’s presence and her personality, totally out of step with the others, makes the lysergic adventure a journey of reflection and self-discovery. Set in the Atacama desert, this is Michael Cera’s (Superbad and Juno) first foray on Latin-American soil. Best director at Sundance 2013.
