Rogéria, Jane Di Castro, Divina Valéria, Camille K, Eloína dos Leopardos, Fujika de Halliday, Marquesa and Brigitte de Búzios are icons of the first generation of transvestite Brazilian artists. From a look at their intimate relationship with the director and her family theater, a stage with an important role in their career paths, we follow these characters during the process of preparing a show to celebrate 50 years of their career. The film suggests an understanding of their lives as works of art, but also as a political act in Brazil’s yesterday and today.
One of the most renowned Brazilian actresses of her generation. She’s been in 25 feature films, and in soap operas, TV shows and plays as well. Her career began at 13, when she won the best actress award at the Biarritz Festival for her role in The Oyster and the Wind (1997), by Walter Lima Jr. She produced the project Operation Sonia Silk and directed three music videos and two plays. This is her first feature film as director.
