Gus Van Sant
Born in the US, in 1952. His directorial debut was Mala Noche (1986). Among his films are Drugstore Cowboy (1989), My Own Private Idaho (1991), Good Will Hunting, Oscar winner for screenplay and supporting sctor, and Milk (2008), which won Oscars for actor and screenplay. For Elephant (2003), he was awarded withthe Palme d’Or at Cannes. In 2012, he directed Restless, which was shown at the Un Certain Regard at Cannes.
