Cleric Abdul Aziz Ghazi, who supports the Taliban and ISIS, dreams of imposing strict Sharia Law on all of Pakistan. Despite official opposition, his Red Mosque coordinates a network of madrassas (religious seminaries) where children learn the Coran and ideas of the holy war. The film follows a boy who studies in a madrassa and a girl who escaped, seeking a more complete education. Meanwhile nuclear physicist and activist Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy gives talks combating religious fanaticism. Things come to a head with a brutal attack on a school, provoking a national outrage.
