Amidst crucifixes and sermons, the persecution of homosexuals by groups of fundamentalist Christians has gradually become one of Uganda’s central themes, resulting in a bill recently proposed to the Ugandan parliament to criminalize homosexuality. Far from being a local phenomenon, such intolerance is endorsed by the evangelical missions organized by the International House of Prayer, a huge American organization which has chosen Uganda as a gateway to spread its doctrine throughout the continent.
