Jean-Luc Godard
Born in 1930 in Paris. He was raised in Switzerland and studied at Sorbonne. He started his career as a film critic writing for La Gazette du Cinéma and for the famous magazine Cahiers du Cinéma. His first feature film was Breathless (1960), winner of the Silver Bear at the Berlin Festival. Among other awards, he received the Academy Honorary Award. He is one of the founders of the movement known as Nouvelle Vague.
