Bub is a cat born with a genetic abnormality which stunts her growth, making her look like a kitten all her life, as well as bringing about other deformities. The handicap made her look adorable and prompted her to become a celebrity with a huge fanbase all around the world. This documentary examines the Internet’s ever-growing obsession with cat videos, taking Bub’s story as a starting point and including other famous felines such as Grumpy Cat, Nyan Cat and Keyboard Cat. Winner of the online jury prize at the Tribeca Festival 2013.
Andy Capper, Juliette Eisner
Andy Capper was born in the UK, in 1973. He has been an editor at Vice magazine since 2009, and has written pieces for newspapers such as The Guardian and The Observer. In 2012, he released the documentary Reincarnated, on rapper Snoop Dogg. Juliette Eisner was born in the US, in 1988. She started working as an intern at Vice and is now part of the magazine’s communications department. This is her first feature-film as a director.
