Four deaf men decide to join wits in order to unmask Lawrence Murphy, the priest who had abused them in the 1960s. From this premise, the documentary examines Catholic Church’s abuse of power throughout History. The case of these four men gave rise to the church’s first sex scandal, beginning in the streets of a small Wisconsin town moving up to the Vatican’s highest ranking offices. The case involves more than 200 children abused for years by Father Murphy. Directed by Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side).
