Joãozinho is a small-time crook with a deep sense of friendship and ethics, a bon vivant who is always looking out to get the best in life. He is a simple guy that carries in himself a range of imperatives for fun that exceed all barriers: skin color, social prejudice and the colonial context. The story of a good-hearted Angolan rascal during the colonial period (1960s-1970s), loosely based on true events.

Zézé Gamboa

Between 1974 and 1980, he directed the newscast and information-based programs for Televisão de Angola (TPA). In 1984, he obtained a degree in Sound Engineering at Néciphone, under Antoine Bonfanti, in Paris, and has worked as a sound engineer in over 30 international productions. In 1989, he started to work as a documentary filmmaker. He has directed films like The Hero (2004), winner of the jury award Sundance.
