After 10 years in prison, Ertan returns to a Viennese neighborhood permeated with gangs, drugs, prostitution and violence. Whilst in prison he lost all contact with his wife and children and even his brother avoids contact. Mikail, his teenage son is close to following in his father’s footsteps, thinking that drug dealing could help him begin a career in hip-hop. But Ertan tries to get close to his son again to keep him away from a life of crime. The main characters are largely non-actors and the film uses real locations. Screened at the Berlin Film Festival 2014.
Umut Dag
Nasceu em 1982 em Viena, Áustria. Estudou relações internacionais, teologia e pedagogia antes de se dedicar ao cinema e ingressar na Filmakademie Wien. Além de curtas-metragens e comerciais, dirigiu o média Papa, vencedor do prêmio alemão First Steps em 2011. A segunda esposa, seu primeiro longa, foi indicado ao prêmio de melhor filme de estreia no Festival de Berlim 2012 e exibido no Festival do Rio do mesmo ano.
