Ebbo and Vera have spent the better part of the last 20 years in different African countries. Ebbo runs a project for treating sleeping sickness. Vera is feeling increasingly lost in her community of expats in the capital of Cameroon. She cannot bear to be away from her daughter, who has left for Germany to study. Ebbo must give up the idea of life in Africa, or else lose his wife. Years later, Alex, a young man of Congolese origins, travels to Cameroon. Instead of finding new perspectives, he ends up meeting Ebbo, a lost, destructive man. Best director at Berlin 2011.
