Trailer

A man and a woman live in a village not far away from Berlin. They couple is inseverable; they have loved each other since they were children. They are both in their thirties: he is a welder and an auxiliary member of the local fire brigade; she works a few hours a week as a cleaning lady and sings in a choir. One day, the man goes on a business trip and, after a night of drinking, he finds himself in another woman’s apartment. This fling doesn’t change his love for his wife, but, try as he might, he cannot seem to find his way back to his old life. Official Competition Berlin 2006.

Valeska Grisebach

Valeska Grisebach

Born in Brema, Germany, in 1968. She studied directing at the Viennese Academy for Cinema under such names as Peter Patzak and Michael Haneke. Her graduation film, Be My Star (2001), won the FIPRESCI award at the Toronto Film Festival and a best film award at the international competition of the Turin Film Festival. Longing (2005), her second feature, was part of the official competition at Berlin.
