Hundreds of hydropower plants in Panama. Garbage incineration in India. The emission of biogas for dende oil extraction in Honduras. Eucalyptus plantations linked to Brazil’s coal. What do these projects have in common? All of them gain carbon credits for taking up pollution generated elsewhere. The main goals of this documentary are investigating the impact of these transferences and questioning its effectiveness in reducing pollution. From indigenous peoples to murdered peasants, the viewer is asked to acquaint himself with several people affected by the carbon industry.

Amy Miller

Born in 1980, in Canada. She is an activist based in Montreal known for her human-rights-related documentary films. Her directorial debut was 2008’s Outside of Europe, a film which denounces discriminatory immigration policies. She directed and produced the documentary Myths for Profit: Canada's Role in Industries of War and Peace in 2009. Her latest film, No land no food no life, is currently in post-production.
