Tuesday, 17 December saw the screening at MAM's Cinematheque of a newly restored print of Watson Macedo's 1950 classic “
Aviso aos Navegantes”, the first film restored by the Brazilian Cinema Research Center (CPCB). The screening was followed by a panel discussing restoration. Among the panelists was Marília Franco (professor at ECA/USP, vice-president of CPCB), Mauro Domingues (curator, specialist in film preservation), João Luiz Vieira (professor at UFF, president of the consultative panel of CPCB), and the panel was moderated by Myrna Silveira Brandão (researcher, critic and president of CPCB).
