On Wednesday directors and producers will again be out in force to support their films at Festival do Rio.

Fellipe Barbosa, whose film Casa Grande won the popular vote at Festival do Rio in 2014, will introduce his latest film Gabriel e a montanha, which premiered in Critics Week in Cannes and won the France 4
 Visionary Award and Gan Foundation Award for Distribution


. The film will screen hors concours at Festival do Rio at 19:00 at CCLSR - Cine Odeon NET Claro and also counts on the support of its producers Rodrigo Letier and Clara Linhart.

Alice Gonzaga, daughter of Adhemar Gonzaga, a visionary filmmaker who founded the first film studio in Brazil, Cinédia, in 1930, will attend the screening of Desarquivando Alice Gonzaga at 19.00 at Cinemateca do MAM. Gonzaga will be accompanied by the film’s director, Betse de Paula, and producer Mario Caillaux Oliveira. The documentary looks at an important part of Brazil’s cinema history through the life and work of Alice.

In Focus Italy director Annarita Zambrano and producer Mario Mazzarotto will introduce Dopo La Guerra (After the War) at 20.00 at Estação NET Rio 5, and the producers of Berenice procura, Elisa Tolomelli, Renata Maranhão, Thais Mello, will attend the screening of the film at 21.00 at Reserva Cultural Niterói 2

At 19.15 director Toni Venturi and producer André Montenegro will present A comédia divina at Estação NET Botafogo. Director Kris Niklison and producer Mi Chan Tchung will introduce Vergel, part of Première Latina, at 21.15 at Kinoplex São Luiz 2

As part of the festival’s Unique Itineraries, director Alessandro Melazzini will present La Cicciolina. Godmother of Scandal at 21.50 at Estação NET Rio 5.
