Gilberto Gil, who is a Brazilian musical superstar as well as being a past Minister of Culture for Brazil, will introduce Viramundo at 19.00 on Sunday at Estação Botafogo 1. The doc follows Gil as he embarks on a tour through the Southern Hemisphere.
After five decades of being one of Brazil’s most important artists, Gil embarks on a new tour through the Southern Hemisphere. From Brazil to Australia, and on to South Africa, Gil continues the work he initiated when he was Minister of Culture, promoting the power of cultural diversity in a globalized world and sharing his views for our future – a diverse, integrated planet, filled with hope and musicality. A foreign portrait - directed by Swiss born Pierre-Yves Borgeaud - of an artist that showcases the universal character of his views.
