After her last child leaves home, Chiara, matriarch of a family of Italian descent, decides to accompany her husband in his travels as salesman in the bars of Serra Gaúcha. A tortoise and a pack of cards will put more than 50 years of the couple's life together to the test.

Born in Porto Alegre, she directed the features A Woman and the Father (screened at the Berlinale 2017 and winner of 20 prizes, including Best Direction at Rio Int'l Film Festival and FIPRESCI Prize at the Festival of Uruguay) and The First Death of Joana (Best Film by the Critics' Jury of Gramado Festival 2021). She began in cinema with the short film Messalina (13 prizes, including Best Script at Brasília Festival 2004 and the Kikito for the Special Jury Prize).
