A journey through the territory of Al-Andalus following the dramatic and fascinating history of one of the most powerful men of his time: o poeta-rei Al-Mu’tamid, born with the vocation of a poet, but whose destiny was to administer an 11th Century kingdom. Ten centuriesa later, a search for the man behind the myth recreates his psychology from his poetry and the known facts of his life which are commentated by encounters and landscapes in a musical journey through the Spain and Marocco.
Carlos Gomes
Portuguese filmmaker, producer and fine artist , he studied architecture, scenography dance. He founded Transiberia Productions in 2015 as a way his work as filmmaker and producer. He was the mentor, artistic director and producer of the audiovisual spectacle Al-Mu’tamid, Poet King of Al-Andalus. He developed his third feature, O Poeta Rei, from the desire to deepen the themes and synergies of this project.
