2040 was an important year for me, for two reasons. First, it was the year I decided to leave the Space Colonies and go back to live in Recife. Secondly, 2040 was the year I discovered The Cult.
André Antônio
Born in Recife in 1988. He worked as a film editor for films from Pernambuco until 2012, when he, along with friends Chico Lacerda, Fábio Ramalho and Rodrigo Almeida, founded the independent collective Surto & Deslumbramento. It was through this collective that he made his short films Mama (2012) and Canto de Outono (2014). He is also a researcher at UFRJ whose interests centre on cinema, nostalgia and artifice.
