Aden, Yemen. The couple Isra'a and Ahmed concentrate all their efforts to offer education and a normal life to their three young children. Without a job because of the country’s economic crisis, they discover that Isra'a is pregnant for the fourth time and need to make difficult decisions for the good of the family, unable to support another child. Winner of the Amnesty International Film Award at the 2023 Berlinale.
Amr Gamal
Amr Gamal was born in 1983 and is a theater and film director. His theatrical troupe reactivated the country’s performing arts, interrupted since the civil war of 1994, and one of his plays became the first Yemeni production staged in Europe. His debut feature film, 10 Days Before the Wedding (2018), was the country’s first commercial release in years and remained in theaters for over 8 months.
