A young couple get ready for the birth of their first baby and buy a doll as a present for their future daughter. When the house is invaded by members of a sect and the couple are violently attacked, the doll Annabelle becomes overtaken by a malevolent entity. Inspired by the story of the doll possessed by a demon from the film The Conjuring (2013) by James Wan. Annabelle is also based on the real story of the occultists Ed and Lorraine Warren. The real doll is on exhibition at the couple’s museum.

Nasceu em 1956 na Califórnia. Diretor de fotografia, estreou em longas-metragens com Brinquedo assassino 3 (1991). Entre seus principais trabalhos estão O Máskara (1994), Amazônia em chamas (1994) e O escorpião rei (2002), além das colaborações com o diretor James Wan, entre elas Invocação do mal (2013), que deu origem a Anabelle. Como diretor, assinou os longas Mortal Kombat – A aniquilação (1997) e Efeito borboleta 2 (2006).
