The outdoor security camera shows a monotonous reception on a street in Mexico City. Inside the building, the lights are blinking, but the tables are still empty. Yet, the preparations are moving at full steam: the beard is shaved, the makeup applied and the hair strands are carefully put in place. In this utopian paradise called the Roshell House, men who repress their desire to cross-dress gain freedom and share their constant search for one or multiple identities. Screened at the Berlinale Forum section, 2017.
Camila José Donoso
Nasceu no Chile, em 1988. Formou-se em cinema pela Universidad Mayor de Chile e especializou-se em cinema experimental pela escola Transfrontera in Arica, onde hoje leciona. É diretora dos curtas Camino gris (2005), La niña del rio (2006), Zonas seguras (2010), La meurte de la loca (2011) e Una vida mejor (2012). Estreou na direção de longas em 2013 ao lado de Nicolás Videla com o filme Naomi Campel. Este é seu segundo longa-metragem.
