Teenage Laila runs away from home with Aaron, her boyfriend, a deserter of the American army. Hidden in Yorkshire the couple live day by day searching for shelter and the next meal. But the girl’s father and brother don’t plan to leave them in peace. They contract bounty hunters who go around the city asking questions with a photo of Laila in hand. When they then find them, there is a conflict and her brother dies. Laila and Aaron must now leave the city. Screened at the Director’s Fortnight, Cannes Festival 2014.
