The poet Dylan Thomas was widely loved as was his poetry. When he toured America three times in the 1950s, there was a great dealing of screaming, shouting and fainting. He also lived the prototypical rock star life, especially the drinking. It only made him more appealing. One day in 1953 he drank 18 double scotches at the White Horse Tavern in New York. He said “that must be some sort of record” and fell into a coma. He was 39. This film is an imagining of what might have happened in those last hours in the White Horse and what made the great man unravel.
Steven Bernstein
He wrote and directed the feature film Decoding Annie Parker (2014), which won multiple awards. Prior to becoming a writer and director, he was a well-known cinematographer, having been nominated for ASC award for outstanding achievement in cinematography. He shot the highly acclaimed Like Water for Chocolate (1994), the Oscar winning Monster (2003) and forty other features. This is his second feature as a director.
