Alexander Payne
Nasceu em 1961, em Nebraska, nos EUA. Estudou cinema na Universidade da Califórnia. Estreou na direção de longa-metragem com The Passion of Martin, em 1991. Dirigiu filmes como Ruth em questão (1996) e Eleição (1999). Ganhou dois Oscar de melhor roteiro adaptado, por Sideways - Entre umas e outras (2004) e Os descendentes (2011). Participou da competição do Festival de Cannes com As confissões de Schmidt (2002) e Nebraska (2013).
