Living with HIV and Hepatitis C for almost 20 years, the director Joaquim Pinto documents his experience in clandestine clinics where, for a year, heused drugs not yet approved for the treatment of viruses. The film encourages us to reflect on time and memory , epidemics and globalization, and survival beyond expectations. In a narrative back and forth between present and past, the documentary is also a tribute to departed friends and those who are still fighting against the disease. Joaquim Pinto
Nasceu em 1957 no Porto. Formou-se pela Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema de Lisboa, e é responsável pelo som de obras de diretores como Manoel de Oliveira e Raul Ruiz. Em 1988, dirigiu e produziu Uma pedra no bolso, e, no ano seguinte, Recordações da casa amarela, filme de João César Monteiro, vencedor do Leão de Prata em Veneza 1989. De sua filmografia como diretor, destacam-se ainda Das tripas coração (1992) e Onde bate o Sol (1989).
