Sentimental Education centers on the unique relationship between Áurea, a lonely 40 year old teacher, and a young man she has just met by chance – one of these encounters which mythology and literature are full of. JULIO BRESSANE
His directorial debut was Face to Face (1967). Along with Rogério Sganzerla, he founded production company Belair, where he privileged low-budget features and shot six films during a six-month period. In 2001 he was awarded at Venice for Days of Nietzche in Turin, and returned to the festival with The Herb of the Rat (2008). A Love Movie (2003), was shown at the Directors’ Fortnight. Cleopatra (2007) was named best film at the Brasilia Festival.
