In his all yellow clothes, Fela Kuti tells the audience of his legendary show in Germany in the 70s: "99% of the information you have about Africa is incorrect." And so begins this documentary about the great Nigerian artist. The creator of the Afrobeat cultural revolution whose appropriation of black American pop culture sparked very current art that goes beyond music, dance, performance and politics. The film combines interviews with collaborators and descendants of Fela, archive footage of shows. Screened at Sundance Film Festival 2014.
