Like any other aspiring writer, Bambi wants to publish his chronicles. However, in order to realize his dream he has to go back to Watts, Los Angeles after being in prison for 28 months. He needs to find his son who is now being taken care of by his addict grandmother. Upon returning he has to deal with an unexpected welcome back present; a job offer as a trafficker. Even though this is normal life for Bambi, he knows that this lifestyle can not continue for much longer. The film features John Boyega, star of the film Half of a Yellow Sun. Sundance Film Festival 2014.

Nasceu em Los Angeles e formou-se na School of Cinematic Arts, da USC. É coautor do roteiro de Sonhos imperiais, desenvolvido durante o Sundance Screenwriters Lab em 2011, trabalho que lhe rendeu prêmios como o Time Warner Storytelling Grant e o Zygmunt and Audrey Wilf Foundation Award. Em 2012, participou do laboratório de produção da Film Independent. É diretor do curta Watts and Volts (2009) e este é seu primeiro longa como diretor.
