Kanpur was once one of India’s main industrial cities, but due to its precarious infrastructure nowadays a large part of the population are obliged to face constant power shortages. Loha Singh is an electrician who sets up illegal electrical connections for poor neighborhoods, thus guaranteeing the functioning of small businesses, factories and homes. Meanwhile Ritu Maheshwari is the new head of the local electricity company, who is trying to bring an end to electricity theft. Deepti Kakkar, Fahad Mustafa
Fahad Mustafa was born in 1984, in Kanpur, India. He studied history in the University of New Delhi and global studies in Vienna. In 2010, he directed the documentary FC Chechnya, on three Chechnyan refugees who played in a Austrian soccer team. Deepti Kakkar was born in 1986, in New Delhi. She attended the universities of New Delhi, Leipzig and Vienna. She directed a short film and was director of production in FC Chechnya.
