Maria was raised in a fundamentalist catholic family. Now she is 14 years old, she lives her daily life in the modern world but continues with Jesus alive in her heart. She wants to serve him so that, as she learned, she can reach heaven. However, her plans are put on hold when she meets Christian, a boy from school. Now her pilgrimage will be different; it is time for her to move on. Her destabilized family take comfort in faith to understand that all the recent events were inevitable. Selected for the Berlin Film Festival 2014.

Nasceu em 1976 em Munique, na Alemanha, mas passou grande parte de sua vida na Africa do Sul. Desde 1997 divide seu tempo entre a música, a escrita, a fotografia e o cinema. É diretor de filmes como Neun Szenen (2006), Run If You Can (2010), ambos exibidos no Festival de Berlim, e Move (2012).
