In September 2011 during a promotional tour for his book The Map and The Territory the writer Michel Houellebecq briefly disappeared off the face of the earth. Wild rumours began circulating on the Internet that he’d been abducted by Al-Qaeda or aliens from outer space. On twitter some readers expressed relief that the controversial author was suddenly no longer around. Houellebecq plays himself through the eyes of Guillaume Niclouz, and reveals what really happened to him at the hands of his tormentors. Berlin festival 2014.
Guillaume Nicloux
Nasceu em 1966 em Melun, na França. Trabalhou como ator e diretor de teatro em Paris, e lecionou durante dez anos na escola de cinema La Fémis. Em 1987, dirigiu seu primeiro curta, L’orage, e no ano seguinte lançou seu primeiro longa, La piste auz étoiles. De sua filmografia recente, destacam-se O ritual da pedra (2006) e A chave (2007). Seu penúltimo filme, A religiosa, foi selecionado para a competição do Festival de Berlim 2013.
