Around midnight, young couple Ali e Mathias and their maid – a cross dresser – prepare for an orgy. Their guests will be the tramp, the star, the stud and the teen. This meditation on sex, love and death is French filmmaker’s Yann Gonzalez feature length directorial debut, after a successful string of shorts. Set in one single set, the plot soon gives way to a spirited fantasy with surrealistic touches and very kitschy ambiance. Offical selection for the Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival 2013, out of competition.
Yann Gonzalez
Born in France, in 1977. He works as a critic for publications such as Max, Têtu and Chronic’Art before making his first short, By the Kiss, selected for the 2006 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. He directed five other shorts, all of them warmly received in international festivals: Entracte (2007), Je vous hais petites filles (2008), Les astres noirs (2009), Nous se serons plus jamais seules (2012) and Land of My Dreams (2012).
