This is how Carine Roitfield, this last decade’s most iconic fashion editor, defines her work: “I don’t take photographs, I tell stories”. An ex-model and editor of Vogue magazine from 2001 to 2011, she was all daring and even rivaled Anna Wintour, but to this day she still carries the stigma of “queen of porno chic”. Carine’s day to day life is presented to the viewer in this documentary, which captures the subject amid preparations for her new magazine, CR Fashion Book. Interviews and statements by Tom Ford, Jean Paul Gaultier, Donatella Versace and Karl Lagerfeld complete this mosaic.
Fabien Constant
Born in France, in 1978. He works as a journalist, director and producer both in films and TV, most notably for Canal Plus. He is known for helming fashion-based audiovisual works. As a producer, he has been involved in the making of Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton (2007) and Le Jour d'avant (2009). He has directed L'effect Mad Men e The Vogue Paris Fashion Night Out, both in 2010.
