In the begining of the 1960s, at the time of Vatican II, young Cathleen announces she's entering the convent, for her agnostic mother surprise. There she finds a harsh environment of devotion and the strict hand of the Reverend Mother. A coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of massive reforms to the Catholic Church, the film is a stirring exploration about women finding themselves, their faith, and their passions beyond religion. Maggie Betts
Nascida em Nova York, é formada em literatura inglesa pela Universidade Princeton. Serviu como voluntária em países da África para entidades como UNICEF e World Food Program. Seu primeiro trabalho como cineasta foi o documentário The Carrier (2011), exibido no Festival de Tribeca. Em seguida, realizou o curta-metragem Engram (2014). Este é seu primeiro longa de ficção.
