Under the assoalho of an old house in Tokyo lives Arrietty, in her tiny world, with her family, doing everything to keep everyone’s existence a secret. Surviving like little thieves, they know the rules to prevent them from ever being noticed by the true – and large – owners of the house. For this, they try to maintain distrust of them above that of cats and rats, and take all possible precautions to avoid being seen. However, when a young man stays at the house, little Arrietty believes she can have a friendship with him, despite the difference in size.
Hiromasa Yonebayashi
Nasceu em 1973, no Japão. Seu primeiro trabalho no Studio Ghibli foi como animador de A princesa Mononoke (1997). De lá pra cá, participou da produção de clássicos como A viagem de Chihiro (2001) e O castelo animado (2004). Estreou na direção de um longa-metragem com O mundo dos pequeninos (2010), tornando-se o mais jovem diretor do estúdio. Em 2014, dirigiu Quando estou com Marnie, exibido em festivais como o de Roterdã e de Londres.
