1960s, Brazil. Through the eyes of Nando, a 12-year-old boy, we follow the path of Antonio, a dreamy idealist. The desire for social advancement gives the family reason to move to the newly opened and still under construction, city of Brasilia. Effected by the political movements of the time and the reforms promised by President João Goulart, Antonio becomes involved in political activism and the worker’s struggle. In April 1964, overnight, the dreams turn into nightmares.
André Ristum
Começou a trabalhar com cinema em 1991 e foi assistente de direção de Bernardo Bertolucci em Beleza roubada (1995). Estudou cinema na NYU-SCE em 1997. Desde 1998, dirigiu curtas, como De Glauber para Jirges, selecionado para o Festival de Veneza de 2005. Em 2004 lançou seu primeiro longa documentário, Tempo de resistência, e em 2011 lançou Meu país, seu primeiro longa de ficção, vencedor de seis prêmios no Festival de Brasília.
