Donna Stern is a Brooklyn comedian who wins over her audience thanks to her spontaneity and unusual honesty. But when she is dumped by her unfaithful boyfriend, Donna becomes depressed and bitter. Just as she is nearing her rock bottom she finds out that she is pregnant. The father is Max, a guy that is nothing like her normal type. Although she is unable to lie when she is on stage, Donna avoids telling the truth to Max at any cost and at the same time needs to face her fears about motherhood. Shown in the Rotterdam Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival 2014.
Gillian Robespierre
Nasceu em Nova York e se formou pela School of Visual Arts, em Manhattan. Escreveu e dirigiu vários curtas-metragens, incluindo Chunk (2006) e Obvious Child (2009). Este último serviu de base para o longa de mesmo nome, desenvolvido no laboratório Emerging Narrative and Emerging Visions do IFP e em parte financiado via crowdfunding. Atualmente, Robespierre trabalha para a associação Directors Guild of America.
