On a summer’s day, a man, his wife and his daughter arrive at his country house for a weekend. After the death of his mother, the 16-year-old girl lives with her father, who gives her little attention. He, on the other hand, is tired of his daily work routine and no longer knows how to find the will to live. His wife, a violinist who takes no pleasure in life, is confused about what should be her priority: music, love or career. Despite the love they feel for each other, the relationship between the three of them is on the brink of collapse. Directors’ Fortnight, Cannes 2015.
Sharunas Bartas
Nasceu em 1964, em Siauliai, Lituânia, e é o mais importante nome do cinema lituano. Em 1989 fundou o estúdio Kinema – a primeira produtora de cinema independente do país. É diretor de filmes como Three Days (1991), prêmio FIPRESCI e menção especial do júri em Berlim, e Freedom (2000), prêmio CinemAvvenire em Veneza, entre outros. Esteve em Cannes em 1996 com Few of Us, em 1997, com A casa, e em 2005 com Seven Invisible Men.
