Film adaptation of theatrical production Pierrot Lunaire, composed in 1912 by Arnold Schönberg and based on the poems by Albert Giraud. Set in the streets of Berlin, filmmaker Bruce LaBruce tells a story of longing, love and transgression, in which a transsexual seduces a young woman who doesn’t imagine that her lover’s gender identity differs from their biological sex. Susanne Sachsse, the main actress, sing in conductor Premil Petrovic’s interpretation of Schönberg’s musical melodrama, one of the most innovative contributions to atonal music. Jury Prize at the Teddy Award 2014.
Bruce LaBruce
Nasceu em 1964 no Canadá. É escritor, cineasta, fotógrafo e pornógrafo. Formou-se em cinema pela York University e ganhou projeção com a publicação do queer punk zine J.D.s. Ele escreve e fotografa para várias revistas. Seus filmes combinam técnicas artísticas e de cinema independente com pornografia gay, e já foram exibidos em festivais por todo o mundo. Entre eles, destacam-se Hustler White (1996), Otto (2008) e L.A. Zombie (2010).
