By mistake, the film director Ham Chunsu arrives in the city of Suwon a day before a screening followed by debate of one of his films. With some time to kill, he goes to an old restored palace, where he meets artist Yoon Heejung. Together they visit the painter’s studio,have sushi for dinner, drink soju with her friends and develop a certain intimacy and interest in each other as the day goes on. When the artist asks him if he is married, the director has no choice but to tell the truth. Winner of the Golden Leopard for best film and winner of best actor at Locarno 2015.
Hong Sangsoo
Born in Seoul in 1960. He is one of the eminent figures in contemporary South Korean cinema. He took part in the Berlin competition with Night and Day (2008) and Cannes with Woman Is the Future of Man (2004), Tale of Cinema (2005) and In Another Country (2012). Ha ha ha (2010) won the award at Canne’s Un Certain Regard. His Hill of Freedom (Venice Film Festival 2015) is also part of the program of the Rio Film Festival 2015.
