The city of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro (today known simply as Rio de Janeiro), founded in 1565 between the mountains Cara de Cão and Sugarloaf, was the capital of Brazil for 196 years and is known for its natural beauty and libertarian spirit. The city’s landscape materialises like few others the dream of a tropical metropolis. This film tells the story of this city’s development, following its architectural remains and the urban reforms that shaped it and its population.

She is a producer and director with Bang Filmes. Among her most expressive films are the feature O risco Lucio Costa e a utopia moderna (Jury Prize in Gramado 2003); Rio de cinemas (2002), a feature which she co-directed; and Now Boarding (2009) and O diário de Tati (2012), which she produced. Expanding her horizons, she also opened Bang Livros (books) in 2012.
