A collection of shorts inspired by football from around the world. Short Plays brings together the work of 33 renowned directors, amongst them Vincent Gallo (Brow Bunny), Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives) and Gaspar Noé (Irreversible). All had total creative freedom, the stories are a maximum of 5 minutes long, using the minimum of dialogue possible and only ordinary people, not actors, from their country of origin. The final result includes documentaries and animations, as well as fiction shorts which look at football in diverse and creative ways.
