Alexander Sokurov is one of the most well rounded Russian filmmakers today, having created a unique aesthetic and a singular philosophy of looking at the world, comparable only to the master Andrei Tarkovsky. He's the director behind intense works such as Moloch, Russian Ark and Fausto. Based on six lengthy interviews filmed in six different locations in St. Petersburg, the film covers his whole life, his exceptional working method and his philosophical thought.
