Three generations of a family have gathered at the matriarch’s house for the weekend. Terminally ill, she wants them to bid her a final farewell, having decided to end her life come Sunday. The sisters Sanne and Heidi have accepted her desire to die before her disease worsens. Bille August
Nasceu em 1948 na Dinamarca. Trabalhou como diretor de fotografia na Suécia antes de ingressar na Escola Nacional de Cinema da Dinamarca. O sucesso internacional veio com Pelle, o conquistador (1987), vencedor da Palma de Ouro em Cannes e do Oscar de melhor filme estrangeiro. Outro destaque de sua filmografia é A casa dos espíritos (1993). Mais recentemente, dirigiu Trem noturno para Lisboa, exibido no Festival de Berlim 2013.
